SharePoint for Onboarding
Weird term, onboarding: anyone from outside financial services would be perplexed at hearing there is a specific term for signing up new customers, or that it would be a problem. Yet at a Gartner conference two years ago, a consultant talked about what a big deal it was to be able to pre-fill forms when an existing customer opened a new account.
Informationweek reports that some companies are using Microsoft SharePoint to simplify the process of getting new customers into the systems and ensuring the handoffs from one department to another aren’t dropped.
Good idea, although you have to wonder what financial firms have been doing with their IT budgets for all these years for this to still be a topic of any interest.
